good job but got a couple questions. There are no lasers in some of the picks and the posts have power. Why did the laser turn off and not stay off as it appears from the picks to use gate logic.

It's a straight port of Laser Fences from Tiberian Sun. Run low on power, it shuts down and you can walk across it.
