I got exactly the same problem as you, it don`t even start or gives an error :/
Maybe my computer is too old/bad to run ut?

1024 DDR (old ram type) 333mhz
AMD 2700 MHZ
Geforce 6600 GT
AGP 8x
+ Some other piece of crap stuff I got in the computer
