My DL is half complete, ne1 downloaded it yet?
I downloaded it and played it for about 2 hours. Ion Cannon is the pwn. EA did a good job with this game.

JK, i've not downloaded it, and, i'm not too bothered about it at the moment.
I've downloaded it, but I would like to at least have had the ability to play as Nod - everything is GDI!!
I played it and it seems good at first. But when I tried a skirmish game, it worked a lot like Generals (no feel of TS or anything). You had 7 or so mini-superweapon on the sidebar, and the ion cannon is just a Generals Nuke.
Im gonna wait though for the game itself to see.

I like it. It feels a lot like the older cnc gameplay.
So what if it still has a little bit from generals? It's fun and is pretty true to the series, and genre.
You know, I knew EA would fuck this up...but they're even better than I thought!
...it doesn't even start. Shows the splash screen for a split second, then nothing. Not even a dead process in the list. It just ends. Setting compatibility mode to 2000 or 98 results in a dialog box showing a
FATAL Error.
And yes, I do fulfill the system requirements.
I got exactly the same problem as you, it don`t even start or gives an error :/
Maybe my computer is too old/bad to run ut?

On the topic of the game not working... I have the Kane edition of the game and it wouldn't even install until I DLed a specific Windows Installer update... and I want my proper C&C installations back, EA. I loved the ones from RA and TD. Damn you.
Only played the first 2 GDI missions so far, and by Joe the Ion Cannon is overkill. I just wanted to destroy a power plant.... instead I watched, jaw on the floor, as Ion chaos slowly unfolded and the whole base was reduced to a crater and I won the mission...
