Cannot start Ares patched YR

Recently wanted to get back into playing YR, on a new PC- I'm getting the same problems listed in the OP and various posts. I can run vanilla YR just fine, but running RunAres.bat opens a console for a few seconds, then closes.

I'm running Windows 7 (64 bit), and no, I don't use Comodo anti-virus or Avast.

EDIT: Worth noting that I've been using Zone Alarm firewall. I had Zone Alarm before and it didn't give me this issue, but I'm going to try uninstalling Zone Alarm, replacing it with COMODO firewall, and then do what the OP did.

EDIT 2: Yeah it was Zone Alarm. Weird that it did this now instead of before, but oh well.
