Renegade Wrote:CnCVK Wrote:I will never rename the patch.Dude. I know you're from Russia, which isn't particularly famous for law enforcement, so I'll explain this in very easy terms:
pd created RockPatch.
Therefore, he has a copyright on the name "RockPatch" for a hack of the YR executable and similar software.
As such, resisting his demand to rename you're patch, you are in violation of copyright law.
That, in turn, means I am currently hosting copyright-infringing material on my server.
Again, this may not be so in Russia, but in Germany, that's pretty much illegal.
One notice of this to my host might very well lead to the instant termination of my hosting contract, taking all of RenProj, ModEnc, STX and RP and its files with it.
So my choice is simple: Remove infringing material, or watch everything to be forcefully removed.
So, in simple, easy terms: I will not lose all my content, all my accounts, all my files, all my organization, and a wonderful hosting deal because you think Russian mob law extends to the world.
It is your decision how you handle the situation. But Renegade Projects will not go down because of your stubbornness.
CnCVK Wrote:Compare you with Banshee for example. You mean the Banshee that stopped reporting on RockPatch because he was afraid EA wouldn't let him go to the community summit if he touched this sensitive subject?
You prefer him to me?
Looking the two quote aboves, we are the same. I was protecting my data, because I believed my site was being watched by EA and/or any kind of authority like the US consulate. I was trying to get a visa, so depending on what they asked me in the interview, they could check my site and news about what they (not me) consider illegal activities could affect my future access to the US territory. So, I was more afraid of them than EA itself. Later, I've noticed that Rock Patch news are not any kind problem, even for EA or whatever kind of authority as long as they are properly worded.
Now, looking at the post above, there is a clear difference between us. I do respect him, even if I disagree with the way he works on this patch. You flame him constantly .
