Is it just me or is everyone getting this?

Don't want to file a bug report yet, as i'm not overly sure if it's ares or just me missing something obvious, but my Allied AI seems to be in love with Pillboxes
[Image: 11awmti.jpg]

I've tried limiting their usage with AI.BaseDefenses= and AI.BaseDefenseCounts= but the AI merrily ignores this, and continues building 'em anyway.

just wondering if anyone else is getting this behaviour.

Can't say that I've experienced that myself... I could whip up some extra logging for AI decisions I suppose.

Well, it is a defensive structure.

Is it just the amount of them that annoys you, or are practical problems arising from that?

Just that the AI is resultantly weak against air attacks.

I'll try shifting the order it's listed in in the defence list, see if that does anything.

EDIT: I've set pillboxes to a limit of 15, per AI.BaseDefenseCounts=, as you can see, there's a few more than 15 there.

You haven't messed with any of the AntiInfantryValue, AntiArmorValue or AntiAirValue tags on any of the defenses, have you?

Actually, I have noticed this too - the AI does seem to be building a lot more pill boxes than other defenses recently, and I haven't touched the AI controls. Maybe I'm just remembering it wrong though...
Ever wondered what the hell is going on?
Believe me friend you're not the only one.

A test with no Ares, no mods vs. Ares with no mods should show if any Ares change screwed with the AI's base planning.

new version seems to have fixed all that.

AI is now building everything at a more sensible ratio.
