Get "Open Office".. I think.. I think there's supposed to be a plugin for Ms office word as well, not sure..
I haven't been testing Ares since revision 197 (193?) cuz my Pc caught swine flu (and in less than a month since the last 'recovery'..) .. Anywho, http://justfuckinggoogleit.com Get "Open Office".. ODT is the OpenDocument Text format, yes. The primary application using it is OOo, but due to being an ISO standard, many applications, including current incarnations of M$ Office, support it.
Nevertheless, given that OOo supports native PDF output, I suggest the next version be published in that format.

The manual does get converted to PDF when a new release is out. I never really updated the manual with each nightly/revision build, but I think I should

To be fair though, most of the nightly builds seem to be bugfixes or under-the-hood tweaks... not really documentable.
