I know there are ways to convert 3D models to voxels, but I cannot find any of the programs. Does somebody know where to download a converter?

The tool you want is ViPr's 3ds2vxl, but it was hosted on Geocities, which was killed by Yahoo.

A quick check on PPM turns up two downloads, but I have no idea how current those are.
