i agree with blade on that, for those of us who do make new missions with new movies, we'd want to be able to specify our own.
as for the patching. assuming that TFD YR is 1.001, maybe slightly modified for DVD, then I'm sure it's possible to get your patch to be able to patch both versions.
just ask TTDP's Patchman, he has a patch that patches TTDX in both the Windows95 and DOS versions, i think they might be different EXEs, but he doesn't manually copy the changes from 1 version to the other, he has some software that creates both patches. if it becomes a problem, ask him how he does it. he's mentioned it before, but me following OTTD(the OS re-write) rather than TTDP(the original version patched), i've only read a very brief example when he's invaded OTTDs forums, mainly topics when we say "Impossable to be done in the patch", mainly saying how he can do it, but hasn't put the effort required into doing something so small in comparison to the many other features he could do with that same effort.
would be something like an IPX/SPX to TCP/IP patch, and adding the ability for another 8 players, so, upto 16 players in multipler. just a comparison.(because it would require a total re-write of MANY hardcoded features.)
