Looking the two quote aboves, we are the same. I was protecting my data, because I believed my site was being watched by EA and/or any kind of authority like the US consulate. I was trying to get a visa, so depending on what they asked me in the interview, they could check my site and news about what they (not me) consider illegal activities could affect my future access to the US territory. So, I was more afraid of them than EA itself. Later, I've noticed that Rock Patch news are not any kind problem, even for EA or whatever kind of authority as long as they are properly worded.

There's a big difference between not posting news on third party projects because you might not be allowed to attend a fun event, and facing termination of hosting because the infringing material is right on your server.

Had you kept posting news on RP, the worst thing that could've happened would be that you'd have not been granted a visa. It would have been your decision, leading to you not being allowed to do something you usually don't do anyway. It was your choice, and you opted for personal entertainment (and asskissing) over community loyalty.
I do not have that option. The material is not somewhere else, and it's not a question of whether I mention it, but it's right here on the server, and if shit happens, I'll actually lose stuff. I'll not be not allowed to more than usual, I'll lose the usual. There's a big fucking difference between defending your chance to do something special, and protecting what you already have.
And that's not taking into account the mass effect - I emphasized the "you" for a reason. Had you not been granted a visa, the only one "losing" something would have been you. If my hosting contract gets terminated, ModEnc is gone, STX is gone, and with it RP, DCoder's stuff, Whitey's stuff, and some more, not community-related stuff that's on the server (my brother's homepage, for example).

So, really, Bansh...I don't think you're a bad guy. Really. I kinda like you, and I respect you for what you're doing for the community. I think you're being a little too touchy with EA, but that's your choice. But please don't claim we're alike in this. We aren't. I'm not afraid of EA and its henchmen, as DeeZire and you were, but of pd's rights on the name "RockPatch" and his code.
I am actually trying to keep this project going rather than constantly ignoring its existence out of legal fear. It's just that the project can't continue if this shit escalates the way VK seems to plan.

Now, looking at the post above, there is a clear difference between us. I do respect him, even if I disagree with the way he works on this patch. You flame him constantly .

That's just plain untrue. I disagree, and voice my disagreement, with his methods and organization of RockPatch, and I'm fucking annoyed by his stubbornness. That is one project, and one character trait of him I might be "flaming". In any issue not regarding RockPatch, and actually in many that do regard RockPatch, I've been entirely normal to him.
Best example is the bugtracker issue - he said something should be done with it, I offered a solution, he agreed with it, now it's done. Simple administrative procedure. No problem.
I don't know if you generally don't view life like that, or if you consciously decide to not seperate issues, but for me, personally, a different issue is a different issue. Period. VK's person and the way I see it is independent from his job as a coder of RockPatch, and the way he codes and manages RockPatch is independent from our relations as hoster and hostee. It's just that, due to the nature of the situation, we recently almost exclusively talked about him and RockPatch, not him as a hostee.

In addition, it's not like he's behaving much differently. And I'm at least targeted in my criticism - he just screams at each and everyone of us.

I mean, what Banshee always moderate forum from neutral position, while you moderate it as you want.

Heh. How often do I actually moderate? With the way you behave here, you'd have been banned at PPM months ago.

Banshee moderates by forbidding everything. You can't even swear without the software taking your words and twisting them around.

Not to mention that, just because I moderate "as I want", that doesn't automatically mean I'm biased. If I was biased, and actually out to get you, don't you think I'd have banned you months ago?

DCoder apparently supports the idea that an independent state has the right to make decisions without previous approval by the Russian government. There's nothing racist in that.
You may not like the idea that the USSR is over, and Russia has lost its might, but that's how it is, and it's no excuse to insult people.
If you feel DCoder is wrong, nothing prevents you from putting a pro-Russia banner in your sig.
