you'd probably name them in things like 1.08, then comes 1.09a1, 1.09a2 and so on, then 1.09b1. you might then want to release it as a 1.08b. the number could get upto like 1.09a20 before you finally release a 1.09.
big question would be. do you call them 1.09a1 or 1.08a1 between 1.08 and 1.09?
anyway, like i said, you'd tell people (as in players) to download 1.08 and 1.09, the "Stable" Major release. and use the minor releases for mod development and beta testing. probably add a warning saying "not recomended for general purpose gaming" or something. would be best in the form of a patcher, but i'm sure marshall doesn't want to have to do the whole patch release thing on a weekly basis.
the "Old way" of releasing it when it is ready was fine when you used to release a new version every month or 2, but like i said, me and AG are waiting to try new features you wrote over 2 months ago. like death anims, immunities and that bounty logic.
