even though there are atleast 2 variations of the english language...

You can't say there are two variations, because its not strictly true. There is one language that contains many coloquialisms (sp?) that are specific to certain geographic locations, but that are for the most part understandable by anyone who speaks english. There is also considerable flow between these locations because of the media and the internet preventing divergence.
