Launch Base Beta Test
Blade Wrote:I don't seem to be able to update the RPMI even though it has a newer version. I assume this is due to the update file not having been updated to the new structure? I've updated the TX update file if someone would like to double check that it works for them.

I'm sorry, that is my fault, I've got to much to do these days. I think I can solve these problems in a couple of days, also my skin.

Thanks Blade, I can confirm that the TX update check file is fine and I can download the TX.
I can also confirm that the RPMI update check file has not been updated yet - gordon please could you update this when you have a moment, thanks.

I've got a feature request:
Code:
launchbase.exe -mod thirdwar -tx 2 -rp 1.10-0023
(Quite self-explanatory, isn't it?)

With this feature it is possible to create desktop-shortcuts. Also, mods could include their own icon and LB could feature an button "Current configuration as Shortcut" (configuration=selected mod+RockPatch+TX) and file save dialog, where the destination could be chosen. Thoughts?
Some of that is already implemented (see Help Topics)

At present, you can't specify plugins in command line and there's no facility to generate a shortcut.

AutoRP should already work though.

I'm loathed to add plugins to command line as it detaches the user from being responsible for their plugin selection (thinking about mods including their own shortcuts here).

If I were to add this, then obviously LB would have to detect the request for a plugin and automatically deactivate any other plugins (that's not a problem, I'm just pointing it out).

Windows' shortcuts are not flat text so I would have to read up on how to generate those.

What does everyone think about this?

I recently reinstalled Windows XP and LaunchBase. I can't start it: "comdlg32.ocx" is missing or broken. I won't try to solve the problem Marshall, so you can try to fix this on you next release.

Unzip the attached file in your LaunchBase directory. Does it solve the problem? If so then I wil include it in the next release.

File solved the problem!

Bug 1: I managed to produce another error by doing the following:
  • Installed YR
  • Installed LB
  • Installed TX (Stand-Alone version)
  • Installed LB-TX-Plugin
  • Started LB
  • Result:
    Code:
    Internal Error
    Date: 2008-05-02
    Time: 09:56:11
    Error: 6
    Description: Überlauf  //Überlauf= Overflow

    Return stack:
    frmMain.DisplayModDetails(2, Falsch, -1) //Falsch=False
    frmMain.Init_LoadMods()
    frmMain.Init()
  • LaunchBase.log
  • Removing expandmd06.mix solved the problem

Bug 2: I also tried to start FA with TX, the following happened:
  • Code:
    Internal Error
    Date: 2008-05-02
    Time: 10:14:00
    Error: 9
Description: Index außerhalb des gültigen Bereichs //"Index out of bounds"

    Return stack:
    frmMain.ActivateMod(3)
    frmMain.LaunchMod(2)
  • LaunchBase.log
Goodie: I made a new LB icon, feel free to use it:
I can see what's causing the second error - am fixing that now.

As for the first error, I can't replicate it. Looks like LB was trying to display the hard-coded vanilla FA2 mod and encountered a ridiculous number (possibly related to the TX). Does reinstating expandmd06 bring the error back? If so, what does the verbose log say? If no joy then 'll add some more logging.

EDIT:
Have uploaded version 0.99.108 which fixes the second error and adds some extra entries to the return stack for when an IE occurs.

Code:
Version 0.99.109 [2008-05-05]
New game option: 'Multiplayer Debug Mode' adds the -MPDEBUG switch (see Help Topics for details).
Added some extra verbose log entries to help determine why plugins aren't authenticating for some users.

Code:
Version 0.99.110 [2008-05-05]
Fixed bug that caused last entry of Mod Catalgoue to be ignored. This has been 'YR Map Packs' since the bug was introduced.
Fixed bug that could cause removed plugins not to be removed from the list of plugins. This could then lead to crashes.
Updated Official YR Map Packs plugin - version 1.2 should now authenticate.
Replaced MD5 routines (again).

The new md5 routines seem to have fixed a problem that DCoder was having authenticating the TX. Electro was having a problem too, is this now fixed Electro?

EDIT:
Code:
Version 0.99.111 [2008-05-05]
Fixed crash that could occur when right-clicking on certain mod lists.
Fixed crash that would occur if a residual mod file in the Red Alert 2 directory was in use by another application or otherwise could not be moved.

Command line parameters (i.e. Dev mode) are now loaded before mods/plugins are loaded/reactivated.
Fixed numerous bugs with the right-click menu's 'Remove Mod' option.
Added 'Open Containing Folder' function to the right-click menu (not for Plugins).

Code:
Launch Base Mod Creator
Version 0.99.101 [2008-05-08]
Replaced MD5 routines to match those used by Launch Base.
Added ellipsis buttons for Include Program Directory and Include Custom Script so that you can use open dialogs to browse for the directory/file.
Added Custom Script Warning text box - you can now include your own comment when the installer warns the user that a custom script will be executed.
Added a new variable for custom scripts: $UNINSTALLCOUNT, which contains the last uninstall file number.
Included example custom script <example.nsi> and an explanation of it in the Help Topics.
Fixed bug that caused the Uninstall section to be generated incorrectly for Tools such that Launch Base wouldn't detect the files to uninstall.
Fixed bug that would prevent any EXE files from an Included Program Directory being added to the Program dropdown list.
Fixed crash that would occur if you Included a Program Directory that contained more files than you had added to the Files tree.
Enabled custom script for Tools.

I guess only the original YR owners would get that joke then, possibly only the English owners even (see attached screenshot)
