Quote:No, it isn't. 'cause it requires highest-level overrides. That way, there is no way to override RP.CSF (for whatever reason that might necessary), only to replace it.
Nobody need override it Smile
without exceptions Tongue
override RA2MD.CSF or add new string tables instead of it.
Also I think about protection.
Game will not run without ROCKPATCH.MIX or with wrong version of it Smile

Quote:It would save people the trouble of having to download 2 separate files.
I thought the installer will install language-specific rp.csf file automaticly Smile
ARM forever - x86 sucks!

Yes, but what about my point?

Also, what is the order of csf overrides? In what order are the various csf files read?
Ever wondered what the hell is going on?
Believe me friend you're not the only one.

There are always exceptions, this is just being short sighted. Who knows what reasons people might have to modify or override that file long after this project is no longer maintained? Same point goes for the game not running without rockpatch.mix.

I don't like it, because I need make a lot of MIXs Unhappy
If you want you can do it Smile
I will send only English mix to you,
and you will make another versions Smile

I don't protect it, but in next versions it can be.

RP-Gen means you won't need to send anything to me, unless RP-Gen needs functionality changes.
I will write RP-Gen to take csf files for the non-English langauges, but if you change your mind in future, then I will need to update the RP-Gen program so that patches can be generated.

here is an idea. why not let cncvk include a seperate RP.CSF, then have launch base, after an RP installation, check for a loose RP.CSF, and if it exists, use the .MIX DLL/CLT thing, to merge it into ROCKPATCH.MIX?

as for making it not work without ROCKPASTCH.MIX, don't do that...

Could do, but it's additional special-case coding that I'd rather not worry about if it's not neccessary.

So what method we will use?
I think the best method - English-only mix and csf file in YR dir

#84
it doesn't matter to me either way, but i think the best option is to have RP.CSF inside ROCKPACH.MIX in all cases.
#85
I agree with Bobingabout, but will write RP-Gen to do what CnCVK wants.
