RE: Launch Base 0.99.260 vs. Ares - Graion Dilach - 15.11.2010 Borrowed another computer. Fresh YR, fresh LB. Before that there were neither on that PC. Two tries, first with official then with custom Ares dll (all were 0.1 P1 Ares, dll rev. 690). Verification errors still apply. Log attached. RE: Launch Base 0.99.260 vs. Ares - Marshall - 15.11.2010 What version of Windows? Are you an admin user? The verification is done using an encrypted checksum. All I can think of is that the checksum isn't being updated or isn't being obtained correctly/consistently. When I try to fudge my install so that the checksums are wrong, LB just re-downloads Syringe/Ares and everything is fine. Try this: Edit LaunchBase.ini and delete the line "Syringe=" (if you have it), save the file. Then go to Ares > Ares Update Options > Update Now Once updates are complete, reload LaunchBase.ini and check the Syringe= line. Has this been updated? Do you have any programs that may be preventing LB from manipulating files? If none of that works I'll add some extra logging to help track down the cause. RE: Launch Base 0.99.260 vs. Ares - Graion Dilach - 16.11.2010 First computer is XP SP2, second is XP SP3. Both are 32 bit systems, both tests were done with an admin user. I don't know any programs around here which could manipulate Launch Base. Tested that Syringe test... same checksum returned. If LB redownloads the programs only if their checksum isn't correct it wouldn't be a problem, but redownloading every time I want to use is a bit much. Although my internet connection is unlimited in download terms, I don't want to waste bandwidth. Once I tried putting an unencrypted MD5sum into that Syringe line and that went wrong, too. RE: Launch Base 0.99.260 vs. Ares - Marshall - 17.11.2010 I've uploaded a new version with some extra logging. Please can you try running your Ares mod, restart LB and try again, then let me have the log file. Thanks. RE: Launch Base 0.99.260 vs. Ares - Graion Dilach - 17.11.2010 Here you are. Two starts with default Ares, then two with "custom" one. EDIT: It looks interesting that if the first sum is the MD5 sum from the log - f99e3d59a6dc024a7dc50828afbda27d - well, my MD5summer says that Syringe's MD5 is 0e3a71ed58177c8aaa23a4571133826e. RE: Launch Base 0.99.260 vs. Ares - Renegade - 17.11.2010 I'm getting b5c84aab973c4486e39251723a642546 for syringe.tar.gz and 0e3a71ed58177c8aaa23a4571133826e for Syringe.exe with md5deep. Since the second hash matches Graion's...Marsh, how are your hashes calculated? Stock function or self-coded? On the file or on a byte stream of the file? RE: Launch Base 0.99.260 vs. Ares - Graion Dilach - 29.11.2010 After a reread of LaunchBase.log, I think the f99e3d59a6dc024a7dc50828afbda27d checksum is valid in Marshall's system and the problem is somewhere around decryption. Even the encrypted code is the same, but the decrypted hash is f99e3d©9a6dc02¶aşdc50828afbda27d. Close enough, but still invalid. What I don't understand ATM, is the end of the log's hash generator part: SQEAVlMWDhlMeQZ3dissPxg/t2wsPGI4YD/uqfNUWQ8= ... -6277thxtK What is this additional data? RE: Launch Base 0.99.260 vs. Ares - DCoder - 29.11.2010 I'm pretty sure that's only meant for Marshall to know. RE: Launch Base 0.99.260 vs. Ares - Marshall - 29.11.2010 Indeed it is. I'm sorry I haven't been able to figure this out yet but I've been really swamped with work. I'll try to get a solution asap. RE: Launch Base 0.99.260 vs. Ares - Marshall - 19.12.2010 I've just changed the MD5 implementation that will hopefully solve this, or at least narrow things down - please let me know how you get on with the new version (0.99.267) RE: Launch Base 0.99.260 vs. Ares - Graion Dilach - 19.12.2010 Code: 2010-12-18 23:17:23 DCoder DLL is missing! Unable to extract ra2md.csf from F:\CnC\Red Alert 2\langmd.mix No, this didn't do the trick. Actually, this broke everything, although I didn't delete the previous checksums from the ini. Assault Packs, YR Map Packs and YR 1.001 exe are also verified as modified. Log quote is from the second run with 267. But those " FailĄd to createşprocess, check" lines are interesting. I am a Hungarian, so thereby my Windows's local settings as well, may that broke LB? RE: Launch Base 0.99.260 vs. Ares - Marshall - 19.12.2010 Failed to create process refers to the md5deep.exe program in your LaunchBase\Resource folder. Can you see if you can run this program from the command line? Start > Run > cmd F: CD\CnC\Red Alert 2\LaunchBase\Resource md5deep syringe.exe EDIT: Crap, sorry, my fault. I've uploaded a new version of LB. Please try that one. RE: Launch Base 0.99.260 vs. Ares - Graion Dilach - 19.12.2010 Assault Packs, Map Packs and YR 1.001 are considered as original, again. However Syringe still fails. Code: 2010-12-19 12:55:28 DCoder DLL is missing! Unable to extract ra2md.csf from F:\CnC\Red Alert 2\langmd.mix In my yesterday's report even the error was garbled... I guess those are related. Note: 2010-12-18 23:17:23 F:\CnC\Red Alert 2\LaunchBase\Resource\Syringe.exe = Failed to create process, check = ZD1SNz0PGHQgNTQrIDQDSykwDlEiG1pWQWQPXCNaMHQ= != DV1RUl8XSFQHOFskLDo4Pxz95Dk9O3Q2LbbuP/oEAS8= = FailĄd to createşprocess, check RE: Launch Base 0.99.260 vs. Ares - Marshall - 19.12.2010 Can you post your LaunchBase.ini file?
