IE Error - Nikademis Von Hisson - 18.05.2010 I had edited this post because I had the issue with the launch base system, due to my fault. Renegade has asked me not to delete info because it could help someone else. I hope you (Renegade) don't mind that I put up the issue I had and what caused it. The Launch Base System would not recognize my mod. I installed it several times and nothing. Scrolling down you will see what Marshall said I do. The whole problem was where my mod files were located. I had them in the original yuri folder. When you open the LB folder and click on mods you should see original RA2 and original Yuri. If you are adding a mod to the list you need to create a folder for your mod, making it 3 folders in the mods folder. Then inside that put the video folder (your mod items go) and the launcher folder where the edited liblist file goes. [General] Name=your mod name Description=your mod name ModType=mod AllowTX=yes UseAres=yes RE: question and custom foundations - Renegade - 18.05.2010 Your mod files should end up in ${YOUR_LAUNCH_BASE_DIRECTORY}/Mods/${YOUR_MOD_FOLDER}/video in exactly the way you want them to appear in the game folder. If you're having trouble with that, get LB Mod Creator.
That way, you'll quickly see whether Ares is launched properly or not. If Ares does launch properly with your mod, we can then check what you tell the game in terms of foundations and what effects you get. RE: question and custom foundations - Nikademis Von Hisson - 18.05.2010 OK, here is my new building. It is a new civilian hospital. There are 2 angles of my hospital the reg 6by4 and my size 4by6. The shadows need work and there is no animations yet, so they were commented out. I am looking into why it isn't working, but in the mean time maybe someone can spot my error. Seeing the 000 at the top of the screen I guess would tell me that Ares is working? The hospital with foundation code is: Code: [NewCiv02] RE: question and custom foundations - DCoder - 18.05.2010 What selection box is shown when you select that building? solved - Nikademis Von Hisson - 18.05.2010 solved RE: question and custom foundations - Marshall - 18.05.2010 Are you sure Ares is active? When you launch the mod through Launch Base and the Yuri's Revenge opening screen is displayed, does it explicitly state in bright colors that Ares is active (at the bottom-left corner of the screen). If it isn't, check ${YOUR_LAUNCH_BASE_DIRECTORY}/Mods/${YOUR_MOD_FOLDER}/launcher/liblist.gam to make sure "UseAres=yes" is set. If that doesn't help please can you attach your LaunchBase.log file ? solved - Nikademis Von Hisson - 18.05.2010 solved RE: question and custom foundations - DCoder - 18.05.2010 If you have downloaded LB, you don't need to manually download Ares. LB will download its own copy and activate it. RE: question and custom foundations - Marshall - 18.05.2010 OMG. Nikademis you are doing some really strange things. Do the following: 1. Take a backup of your mod files somewhere - I suggest C:\Nikademis 2. Run Launch Base. 3. Go to the Residual File Manager and mark all files as UNSAFE. 4. Close Launch Base 5. Uninstall Launch Base completely. 6. Remove all Ares files from the RA2 folder. 7. Remove your mod files from the RA2 folder. 8. Install Launch Base to somewhere that is NOT your RA2 folder. This can be $RA2_FOLDER\LaunchBase or C:\Program Files\LaunchBase, for example. 9. Put your mod files into $LAUNCHBASE\Mods\ROH\video 10. Run Launch Base. 11. Select your mod and click Launch. 12. Never ever ever mark any files as safe. 13. Read the Launch Base Help Topics. 14. Never ever ever ever mark any files as safe. Perhaps I need to put some restrictions on the Residual File Manager... RE: question and custom foundations - DCoder - 18.05.2010 Quote:Perhaps I need to put some restrictions on the Residual File Manager...You can't fool proof everything. At some point, users have to know what they're doing. solved - Nikademis Von Hisson - 18.05.2010 solved RE: question and custom foundations - Marshall - 18.05.2010 What is "BIGPOP" ? What are the actual messages you get? When you say "find anything in RA2" what do you mean? What is actually happening? Please provide screenshots of errors to illustrate if necessary, and the LaunchBase.log file. solved - Nikademis Von Hisson - 18.05.2010 solved RE: question and custom foundations - Marshall - 18.05.2010 And as per IRC discussion, I see you've fixed the problem.
