ren, whens this german holiday end? mine the english 1 begins next week, at which time i'll be working, still.

i worked last holiday too...

heh. That's a tricky question. Mine's been over for about a week, but education in Germany is in control of the states, meaning the holidays, in turn, differ from state to state as well.

Let me see if I can look it up...

Hmm. According to Wikipedia, Datteln is in North Rhine-Westphalia - and according to The Internet, North Rhine-Westphalia does not have holidays in may. Poor bastards, but that kinda rules out vacation.

Yet, it's also possible that he's away with his class our something. Or sick. Or in jail. Or dead. Sounds ugly, but we cannot deny the possibility.

I bet it's something stupid, though. Like him being burried in work, or grounded.

grounded seems like the most logical. but he could still sneak us a message while at school...

which points to 1 of the others, school trip, hospitalised, in jail, or dead...

my best guess is hospitalised/dead..... unfortunatly.... he did tell me he was ill a few days before vanishing...

I'm neither dead nor buried by work nor on vacation nor anything else.
I'm just doing nothing actually. Though I don't want to give too far explanations (i.e. for my sudden disappearance).

However, one reason is that my PC pissed me off, nothing ran anymore, so I reinstalled Windows. But reinstalling YR then didn't really work, I reinstalled it 2 times and kept having then 23-seconds-bug (everything blows up).
Then I got angry and just left it alone.
Plus, I think, at all, I'm kinda tired of YR currently. :wacko:
So I just take this as a break (sorry to say this: my breaks can be loong).

What I can say is that I won't return without having done anything.
That genetic-mutator bug can only be solved by ingame-tests, which isn't "available" for me (currently).
Once I want to get the game run again, I'm sure I'll manage to do that, but currently, I'm into many other stuff

However, jonwil: ask me questions whenever you like via e-mail (I wonder why nobody emailed me about my status anyway ).

I didn't touch LAN stuff, so I couldn't make any mistake there.
I dunno why there are those REs, and my network/internet programming skills equal zero, so nothing I could do there, unfortunately.

ok, so what things are broken in patch 1.05?
The tank bunkers are broken with units that should be able to go into them not able to and vice versa (that can be fixed easily)
Also, the infantry mutate is broken.
And the sidec03 stuff is broken.
Anything else?

Yeah, the genetic mutator stuff - I have tested only original Brute mutation and it went mad, causing IE, but I think that other "custom" mutations are also broken up.

As for sidec0x stuff, PaD told me that now, 'no' activates new sidecs and 'yes' deactivates them

The tank bunker bug is last I have encountered, but I heard that some people encountered the IE during skirmish loading, and it was probably not caused by teh sidec stuff, as they said they played as other countries than Yuri's nor Forth Side one.

exploding bug... 3 things cause this AFAIK. the windows randomly generated installation number doesn't match. the serial code doesn't match, something else in the registry doesn't match.

if you are installing it from your YR CD, then it should work fine, unless there something else in windows causing the problems....


i can help you with multiplayer things if you want, i don't get REs, but IE, so i can get you about 15 IEs from 3 seperate LAN games if you want.



and something tells me we're not going to see PD for a while.

when i get home, i can send you 2 from my laptop, bare in mind these are network crashes, so theres multiple except files for the same game.

the rest would require me to get out all the machines in the classroom next door and get the files from those, so those will have to wait. some of the files are from 1.04c, but most are from 1.05

EDIT: there we go. nw1 is from 1.04c, nw3 is from 1.05

I'll have to get you the other later.

as you said you played 1.05 against 1.04c
I think they just uncompatible

try and play 1.05 against 1.05

Anyway, I told jonwil about this type of error in an email.
The problem is that my data is stored in an area that turns out to be used by the game in some way, so during the game, it gets overwritten, and addresses get invalid, causing an IE.

@jonwil:
It would be a good idea to move stuff like "MyArray_SpecialColors" and "MyRules", and other stuff which is being stored in the routine at B97000.
