Launchbase Internal Error - ThePredator - 23.04.2010

I have installed the version from the website and installed it properly
no errors in any kind. Untill I launch it. Then I get this:
(Image)
Together with a fresh except.txt and a launchbase.log

An IE...
(note: I am Tester so it is critical for me to use it for downloading Ares)

(If all else fails, there's always the manual download method.)

RE: Launchbase Internal Error - AlexB - 23.04.2010

Can you provide some more info about your system?

Without any further info, I assume you are using Windows Vista. Try installing the runtime files. They might be outdated.

(Its not my own)
Windows XP - SP2
CPU - Intel Pentium 4 2200Mhz 2 GB
4976 MB Memory

RE: Launchbase Internal Error - AlexB - 23.04.2010

Ok.. Vista had some problems. You could still give the runtimes a try. in that case it would be more likely an active x control is unavailable/not registered.

RE: Launchbase Internal Error - ThePredator - 23.04.2010

F*ck, I cant even install it! What the heck is going on with this PC!
Visual Basic 6.0 was not succesfully installed ...

RE: Launchbase Internal Error - AlexB - 23.04.2010

It should work on Xp. are you an administrator or did the original owner change something unusual on the system?

Ok. Try these updates for the common controls:

If this does not work, there might indeed be a file missing.

RE: Launchbase Internal Error - ThePredator - 24.04.2010

I'm having the same IE, so I think that indeed a file is missing, is there an alternate place to download Ares?

RE: Launchbase Internal Error - Orac - 24.04.2010

The SVN would be a favourite, wouldn't it?

RE: Launchbase Internal Error - AlexB - 24.04.2010

<old>Can you create a list of files with the extension ".ocx" in your windows\system32 folder?</old>
Seems a missing ocx file should not be the cause. Are you still trying to get it to work or have you given up?

There could be a versioning problem. Try putting the three ocx files in the LB install directory to another location. If this does not work, LB will tell you about the specific file missing. Then you can put them back one by one.

It might also be a registration problem. Drag and drop the three files on the file Regsvr32.exe in "Windows\System 32".

No I have not given up, I will give it a try

Done that on all three. No result.

Done that.
If the msinet.ocx is missing, he says its missing. As soon as I ONLY put the msinet.ocx in the directory. I get the error. The other two are NOT in the directory.

I think that the problem is in the msinet.ocx file.

Where can I download it? Manual does not really give a good discription where to download Tongue

RE: Launchbase Internal Error - AlexB - 04.05.2010

Ok. Try putting the msinet.ocx out of the folder again and look into your "Windows\system32" folder. A file with the same name should be there. Copy it to the LB folder, then retry.
This may also caused by the next file, mscomctl.ocx. Did you retry to install the runtime files?
I hope, this helps.

RE: Launchbase Internal Error - ThePredator - 04.05.2010

The file isnt there:
<See screen>

And I dropped the .ocx files at the next screen.

RE: Launchbase Internal Error - AlexB - 04.05.2010

Which version of IE do you have installed?
